The third stage of the $740 million St George Hospital Redevelopment will soon be underway, with main works to begin within weeks.

The redevelopment will include:

  • Outpatient, ambulatory and integrated care services
  • Pathology specimen collection
  • New day rehabilitation unit
  • Increased sub-acute and rehabilitation inpatient beds
  • Sub-acute aged care unit
  • Behavioural management unit
  • Acquired brain injury unit
  • Palliative care
  • Surgical services with refurbished operating theatres
  • Enhanced diagnostic imaging (medical imaging and nuclear medicine)
  • New Clinical Skills Centre

In addition to the new Ambulatory Care Building, a new public forecourt and green spaces will provide a welcoming environment that supports patient well-being.

The Stage 3 Redevelopment will complement the previously completed Emergency Department, eight-level Acute Services Building and upgraded Birthing Suite and Operating Theatre redevelopment.

The St George Hospital Redevelopment is part of the NSW Government’s record $11.9 billion investment in health infrastructure over the four years to 2025-26
