In November, Palliative Care Western Australia held two Compassionate Communities Symposiums in Metro and Regional in WA. 90 people attended highly successful symposiums in Bunbury and Melville to introduce the Compassionate Communities approach to WA. Participants included a mix of community, local government and health professionals who highly rated the speakers from Perth and interstate. PCWA have been kind enough to allow anyone access to the presentations from all of the speakers at the symposium. Click the links below to access them.

Kerrie Noonan – Building Compassionate Communities: Developing our Practices

Christine Young – Progressing Age-Friendly Communities in WA

Jan Bruce – Victorian Councils: Supporting Communities around End of Life Project

Andrea Grindrod – The Healthy End of Life Program (HELP); offering, asking for and accepting help.

Healthy End of Life Program (HELP) 2017

Barbara Binns – Weavers: Creating a Community of Carers in South Australia

Following on from the symposiums PCWA has initiated the Compassionate Communities WA Network to enable people to share Compassionate Communities ideas, news and collaborate on projects. Join the network here to receive updates and become involved.
