Findings released on the 16th February 2018 by the Australian Bureau of Statistics from the 2016 Census of Population and Housing show a clear upward trend in the counts of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people now represent 2.8 per cent of Australia’s total population, up from 2.5 per cent in 2011, and 2.3 per cent in 2006.
The Aboriginal Cancer Network Forum aims to bring together health professionals working to support Aboriginal people affected by cancer, to showcase work, share information and identify priorities toward reducing the burden of cancer.
The Forum will be held on Tuesday 20 March and Wednesday 21 March 2018 at The Terrace Room, L’Aqua, Dockside, Darling Harbour, Sydney. For more information email events@cancerinstitute.org.au.
