Lady Davidson Private Hospital recently celebrated the opening of their new Palliative Care Ward. Deputy CEO, Megan Asbury was in attendance.
Located in North Turramurra, the new ward has been thoughtfully designed to provide high quality palliative care, and support patients and their families at end-of-life.
The opening event brought together colleagues from across North Sydney, healthcare partners, community members, and supporters, all gathering to recognise this important expansion of services at the hospital. It was an opportunity to showcase the hospital’s vision for delivering compassionate, person-centred palliative care, with an engaging panel discussion including highly skilled geriatric and palliative care clinicians.
Designed with both patients and families in mind, the space features dedicated family areas, tranquil outdoor surroundings, and a highly skilled multidisciplinary team. Together, these elements ensure that each patient receives personalised care that respects their individual needs and preferences.
This expansion represents an important step forward in strengthening and building palliative care services in the region.
