Abstracts now open for the PCNSW Conference 2021

Palliative Care NSW’s beloved biennial state conference was scheduled for November this year but just like everything else has had to be rescheduled due to the pandemic. New dates for the conference are 4 – 7 March 2021 and registrations are open now.

The Scientific Committee warmly invites everyone who either works in or has an interest in palliative care to submit an abstract for consideration.

The theme ‘2020 & beyond: A Clear Vision for Palliative Care’ takes advantage of the year 2020 to apply a visionary lens to palliative care in the near future. We know where we’ve been and how we got to where we are now. Do we know what we want palliative care to be in the foreseeable future? How do we implement the many lessons we’ve learned over the past 50 years? What role do we want Aged Care to have in providing quality end of life care? How can we use the tools that have been developed: the NSW Health Framework; The ACI Blueprint; The National Consensus Statement; and the National Palliative Care Strategy to name a few.

Take the time to gaze out over the ocean in Terrigal and be inspired to contribute to the contemporary Palliative Care vision.

Abstracts are invited to challenge delegates to recognise how Palliative Care can respond to the opportunities of the future, while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the fabulous Central Coast.

The conference seeks contributions that explore, inform or challenge around four themes:

A Clear Vision for the Future of Palliative Care
– Normalising death
– Voluntary assisted dying?
– Psychotherapy?
