New End-of-Life Essentials’ animated video: ‘A Patient’s Perspective.’

The End-of-Life Essentials project recently released a new animated video titled ‘A Patient’s Perspective.’

This animation is based on the experiences of one woman, who, when faced with a life-limiting illness, chose to share her experience so we can all learn how to be better professionals. This video encourages us all to view patients as individuals with lives beyond their illness, and respond to them with empathy.

Harvey Max Chochinov, distinguished Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Manitoba, praised the video, saying that it powerfully captures the patient’s voice and reminds us to never let their illness overshadow their humanity. In today’s world of complex medical systems, this message is more important than ever and should be shared widely.
