The WHPCD theme for 2022: Healing Hearts and Communities
Palliative Care NSW joins WHPCD with a Webinar led by Carmen Sanchez: “Providing Palliative Care to CALD Patients and Families”.
Carmen is a Nurse Practitioner in palliative care with a Chinese background. She is currently working at Calvary Healthcare Kogarah in Sydney covering Georges River Council which is a culturally diverse area and Sutherland Shire Council.
Carmen has worked in a number of hospices in both the UK and Australia, operational management, in patient unit, Motor Neurone Disease and currently providing palliative care in residential aged care facility and at home in the community. She completed her Master in Nursing, Nurse Practitioner at the University of Newcastle in 2019.
Carmen is a regular speaker, project officer and participate in research that promote palliative care in culture and linguistically diverse groups. She is passionate about using both her cultural background and her clinical knowledge so that people with different background will not miss out on the essence of palliative care that they are entitled and well deserved.
