21OPCC kicked off to a great start on Tuesday 7 September with the announcement of the winners in the National Palliative Care Awards 2021.
Congratulations Dungog Shire Palliative Care Volunteers Inc, winners of the Outstanding Team Award.
Dungog Shire Palliative Care Volunteers provide free, supported transport to treatments and doctor appointments, equipment and linen (all following COVID guidelines) to anyone in Dungog Shire with a life limiting illness.
The group has been running for 26 years and is deeply embedded in the community. Many other Dungog community groups support the palliative care volunteers by fundraising and donating to the cause to help purchase much-needed equipment and other items of service for people in palliative care.
The Outstanding Team Award is a fitting recognition of a community that cares. Well done to all the members of Dungog Shire Palliative Care Volunteers Inc.
