Abstracts are invited for presentations at the virtual SCHN Paediatric Palliative Care Symposium to be held on Thursday 3rd March 2022. The annual Symposium is an opportunity for health professionals delivering paediatric palliative care to participate in this educational and networking event.
The 2022 Symposium theme is “Shaping Paediatric Palliative Care towards Tomorrow”. Abstracts are welcome for 10-20 minute oral presentations reflecting the Symposium theme which includes new and innovative forms of practice from differing health disciplines.
Categories for consideration may include but are not limited to:
- Education and training
- Current research, quality initiatives, or examples of evidence-based practice
- Multidisciplinary care
- Service delivery models
- Consumer engagement
- Challenges and opportunities working within differing health care environments
Abstract length: 200 word limit
Abstracts will be assessed against the following criteria:
- The abstract adds to existing knowledge, is innovative, and is evidence based
- The abstract contributes to the themes of the Symposium
- The abstract is relevant to palliative care

All submissions will be reviewed by the SCHN Palliative Care Symposium Scientific Committee. Applicants will be notified within 2 weeks of closing of submission. It is expected that by submitting an abstract applicants are able to commit to registration for and presenting at the conference. Presenters will be offered a 50% discounted registration rate.
