PCNSW was delighted to partner with Hunter New England LHD to host the 2024 Biennial State Conference in Tamworth (31 October – 2 November 2024), with a record 300 delegates in attendance.
The theme of the conference was Above and Beyond: Inspiring the Way We Care(Gayaldanha Mirri). The three-day program featured 60 presentations and showcased through keynotes, concurrent presentations, case studies, panels and posters how the sector goes above and beyond, is tackling challenges and embracing opportunities. Those attending were a true representation of the multi-disciplinary approach to quality palliative care.
We had an outstanding keynote speaker line-up including closing keynote speaker Samantha Bloom, four-time World Para Surfing champion and bestselling author and inspiration behind the international global hit movie Penguin Bloom. We would like to thank Samantha and her husband Cameron for joining us and providing us with such inspirational stories of perseverance and connection.
Connecting with each other socially is always an important part of this conference. We headed to historic Dungowan Station in the Dungowan Valley, and as Tamworth is known as the Country Music Capital there was definitely some boot scooting on the dance floor!
