Survey on out of pocket costs for rural health care consumers

The National Rural Health Alliance and the Consumers Health Forum of Australia invite contributions to a national Survey on the impact of out of pocket costs for people in rural areas.

“By out of pocket costs we mean those additional costs for treatment inside or outside of hospital which were not covered by health insurance or Medicare and which you had to fully pay yourself, or where you paid a gap for services attracting a Medicare and/or health insurance rebate”.

They plan to use information from the Survey to inform their advocacy and to share it more widely on their website and via social media.
