The Health Education and Training Institute (HETI) in partnership with the Ministry of Health (MoH) is pleased to offer a scholarship opportunity for health professionals seeking to enhance their knowledge and skills in palliative and end-of-life care. This scholarship provides funding for the Certificate in Palliative Care at Flinders University to target health professionals who do not work in specialist palliative care but wish to develop their knowledge in this essential area of healthcare.
About this Course
This self-paced short course allows participants to explore the palliative approach from the diagnosis of a life-limiting illness through to end-of-life care. Learning is designed across ten modules, each requiring successful completion of an open-book quiz before progressing to the next.

Scholarship Overview:
- Provider: HETI in partnership with the MoH
- Purpose: To support health professionals in building foundational knowledge and skills in palliative and end-of-life care
- Eligibility:
- NSW Health employees working in Local Health Districts, Specialty Health Networks or NSW Ambulance
- Australian Citizens or permanent resident of Australia
- Individuals must not be receiving another subsidy, grant or scholarship concurrently
- Ability to complete the Certificate in Palliative Care prior to 31 December 2025
- Priority professions: Health care professionals that do not work in the palliative care specialty, Aboriginal Health Workers, allied health and medical staff and those that work in rural and remote areas. Other healthcare professionals are also welcome to apply.
