Palliative Care and End-of-Life Policy Round Table

On Tuesday the 4th of March UTS IMPACCT and Palliative Care NSW co-hosted the inaugural Palliative Care and End-of-Life Policy Round Table, facilitated by Edwina Deakin, UTS Institute for Public Policy and Governance.

Bringing together stakeholders from across the palliative care sector, this event was an excellent opportunity to bridge the gap between policy and practice in a collaborative and creative environment.

Generously sharing expertise and knowledge, Professor Fliss Murtagh discussed how evidence is informing palliative care policy in the UK and the role of the newly established UK Policy Research Unit in Palliative and End of Life Care. While reflecting on some of the benefits and challenges, attendees were encouraged to consider how this could apply to Australian and NSW contexts.

Thank you to all those who contributed to these important discussions. UTS IMPACCT and PCNSW look forward to facilitating more of these events in the future and developing creative solutions to the challenges facing the palliative care sector in NSW and Australia.
