Recent parliamentary discussions in South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania has bought renewed attention to end of life care and euthanasia.
At the Notre Dame University ‘QndA’ discussion last night on Euthanasia and Palliative Care with Jean Kittson (L), Patron of Palliative Care Nurses Australia and Director of Palliative Care with Cabrini Health AP Natasha Michael (second from R) on the panel.
Dr Natasha Michael made the point “One of the things we need is to teach people how to be with the dying. We have to teach people the ability to be and not to do. The hospice is a place which helps create the physical environment where this can take place.”
