Volunteer Coordinator – Braeside Hospital

HammondCare provides care primarily through hospitals, residential care homes and home-based care as well as services for dementia support, community palliative care, rehabilitation, positive aging and older persons’ mental health.

About the role:

The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for leading a volunteer service whose key focus is to support our hospital services.  HammondCare’s volunteers support their patients by providing social support, happy hour trolley, coffee carts, writing our patients’ life stories, admin, pet therapy etc.

This is a permanent part-time position working 15.2 hours per week across 3 days, however 2 full days will be considered for the right candidate.  The role is based at Braeside Hospital – Prairiewood.

Duties include:

  • Working with multidisciplinary teams to build a volunteer service that compliments the needs of their clients at Braeside Hospital
  • Attracting, recruiting and onboarding volunteers, matching their interests with suitable opportunities
  • Managing and mentoring volunteers, supporting them with both online and onsite face-to-face training as well as coordinating social volunteer events
  • Maintaining accurate records in the volunteer database (Salesforce) and following established processes and guidelines for Volunteer Services
